Leading from Your Knees
Vicky Botsford, President, LifeSteward Ministries
Leaders are great at DOing but sometimes have to be intentional about BEing. We will explore the model of a Biblical paradigm of leadership that is birthed out of time spent in His presence. Our time will include practical teaching on encountering the Father through Presence Based Leadership, listening prayer and time to respond through worship and prayer in His presence.
Compassion Fatigue: Weary in Well Doing
Eric Scalise, President, Liv Enterprises & Consulting, LLC
Caregivers, coaches, and ministry leaders are often thought of as being compassionate people and are frequently in close proximity to the emotional suffering and trauma of those they work with. The stress and strain of constantly being in the “giving position” can exact a heavy toll, on caregivers and coaches. Many individuals experience physical, emotional, relational, psychological, and/or spiritual upheaval. This workshop will examine the dynamics of stress, compassion fatigue, and selfcare from a biblical perspective.
Never Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever Give Up!
Mark Vermilion, Lead Consultant, Storks Consulting
As a prolife leader, you’re passionate about the work you do. You get up each morning with a sense that your work is important—and urgent. You don’t do it for accolades or money. You do it because it’s what God has called you to do.
But you figured out a long time ago that your prolife work isn’t easy. It’s fraught with problems, obstacles, crises, battles and, yes, even an opponent. At times, you find yourself wondering if you have the spiritual, emotional, and physical energy to keep “fighting the good fight.” You feel like giving up. If you’ve been there recently—or you’re there now—this session is for you. It will help and inspire you to persevere through failure, obstacles and hardships. Today and every day.
Relying on Love
Trillia Newbell, Director of Community Outreach, Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission
Love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). In this session we will explore what it means to love our neighbor even when it’s hard. This will include but is not limited to: loving our enemies, loving difficult clients, and loving when it feels like a thankless job.
Trust: The Firm Foundation for Kingdom Fruitfulness
Dan Busby, President, ECFA
Never in history has trust been so attacked on a daily basis. That is why those leading Christ centered ministries need to be intentional about building and maintaining trust. When Jesus radically changes us, our “trust factor” goes way up. And radically changed people are serious about fundamental ministry issues like governance, financial management, and raising resources. Anything less than a full trust environment creates a distraction from the mind-blowing good news of the Gospel giving some the justification they seek to disbelieve the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When we are trusted, we not only please Him, but we enhance His reputation and give others the right impression of Christ. The power of trust trust that a ministry is reliable, good, and honest based on the truth of God’s Word is undeniable. Trust changes everything.
